Hampton school division achieves College Board AP Honor Roll status
The Hampton school division announced that it has achieved College Board Advanced Placement Honor Roll status.
According to a press release from the Hampton school division, "it is one of only 12 in the entire state of Virginia to achieve this academic honor. The Hampton school division earned the honor for simultaneously increasing access to AP courses and raising achievement on the examinations. The College Board also cited the school division for increasing AP participation and achievement of traditionally underserved graduates including African Americans, American Indian, Hispanic/Latino and low-income students."
In Hampton city schools, the number of students taking AP exams increased by 18 percent, and the number of qualifying scores increased by 35 percent, according to the release.
